Protocol For Public Comment

Protocol for Public Comment

Public input is important to the Brentwood Board of Education. On the agenda you will notice that there are two opportunities to speak before the Board of Education:

1.Questions on Agenda items – These questions are only about items on the agenda at this Board meeting.

2.Public Questions – This is where the public may respectfully ask questions on non agenda items.

To respect all those who wish to address the Board please be aware of the following:

1. Direct all your questions to the Chair of the meeting (usually the Board President).

2. State your name and town you live in or organization you are representing.

3. Each person wishing to speak to the Board may ask one question and then go to the end of the line, and, if time permits the Board may entertain another question from you.

4. Only questions will be entertained.

5. The Board acknowledges that questions may need research. The District will make every effort to respond in a timely manner.

6. The Board will not allow questions or statements about any specific staff member or child.
