GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Performs work related to the protection of students, staff, visitors and property within the confines of the Brentwood Public Schools.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the basic rules of good conduct expected on public grounds and buildings;
Knowledge of specific rules and regulation of the Board of Education and Safety Department with respect to use of school facilities;
Knowledge of all aspects of criminal and New York State Education law which are pertinent to the maintenance of law and order on school district property;
Ability to work all day while standing;
Ability to work outside under adverse weather conditions;
Ability to write concise and detailed reports;
Ability to work assigned posts;
Ability to observe suspicious activity and follow through;
Ability to deal with the public in a tactful manner.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Completion of High School, or satisfactory equivalent combination of the above education and experience;
Must be Twenty-One years of age or older;
Valid New York State Driver’s License;
Valid New York State Security License and 16 Hour Certification;
Valid working home and/or cell phone number must be available at all times.
