Second Annual bIT Expo

The IT department was proud to present the Second Annual bIT Expo on Tuesday, October 8th. The event was once again hosted at East Middle School. bIT Expo was open to the entire Brentwood community including BUFSD employees, parents, and community groups. All attendees had the opportunity to get hands on experience, view demonstrations, and ask questions regarding all technology on display during the event.

Technology specialists from several companies provided interactive demonstrations on equipment and applications in use by all schools. We were happy to welcome back presenters David Suaviso from Sharp, Dayna Quinn from Microsoft, and William Cavallo from Brothers II Business Machines. The IT Department again partnered with Eastern Suffolk BOCES to bring in multiple products available to the district including Spheros, which is new this year (see video below). Brentwood Public Library and Suffolk Transportation, as well as, district departments such as Bilingual/ENL and Transportation, were in attendance providing information on the technology available to the Brentwood community. As new this we had BrainPOP and Altice alongside some of last year’s popular presentations eSchoolData for staff and parents.

The event concluded with the I.T. Town Hall, which gave attendees the chance to ask questions regarding technology in the district, as well as, a chance to win one of several raffle prizes which include the 3D Print on display during the event and several iPads donated by our vendors. The IT department would like to thank all who attended and we hope to see more of you next year
