Brentwood Senior Accepts Full Ride

to Prestigious Research University

Congratulations to Christian Blanco, Johns Hopkins Class of 2025

BRENTWOOD, NEW YORK (MARCH 2021)—Brentwood High School senior Christian Blanco recently announced he has accepted a full ride scholarship to Johns Hopkins University, a private research university in Baltimore, Maryland, as a member of the university’s Class of 2025. Christian, selected from a pool of 33,236 applications, joins 824 early decision students who were offered admission in December and February.

The Brentwood student began his education in the district at Pine Park Elementary, before moving to North Elementary, as a bilingual student. Christian went on to attend North Middle School, the Brentwood Freshman Center, and currently attends the Sonderling Center in Brentwood High School.

Christian’s academic passions; ability to make a difference through service, leadership, and innovation; and eagerness to follow his interests at the collegiate level were just some of the factors that led to his acceptance at Johns Hopkins. Christian will be pursuing a degree in kinesiology, the study of the mechanics of body movements, with intentions of attending medical school afterwards.

“I could not have done it without the help of my school counselor Ms. Fasano,” Christian stated. He also gave a special shout out to his physical education teacher Ms. Goumba, who is the advisor of BHS’s Health and Wellness Club.
