The Office of Suffolk County Legislator Samuel Gonzalez honored Pine Park Principal Rosa Nieves as a valued member of the Brentwood community on Thursday, August 10---Ecuadorean Independence Day.

Nieves received a Proclamation from the Legislator's Office in a ceremony that was presided over by Chief Legislative Aide Luis Montes Brito. She was recognized along with Jhonatan Quiroga and his family, who are the purveyors of the La Gran Amazonia Ecuadorian restaurant in Patchogue.

Nieves celebrated the accomplishment with her friends and family as well as members of the Ecuadorian-American Chamber of Commerce.
