New Faces in Our District: Welcome to Brentwood!

The 2023-24 academic year is over and done yet there are members of our staff who will be beginning their first full academic year in Brentwood in the fall! Let's meet some of the new faces in our district and welcome them to our great community.

Mary Fultshire Taibi, Assistant Coordinator for ELA and Social Studies

Mary Fullshire Taibi joined the Brentwood Union Free School District as Assistant Coordinator for English Language Arts and Social Studies as of February 2024. Previously, Ms. Taibi served as a secondary English teacher in the North Babylon UFSD beginning in 2016. Prior to her time at North Babylon, she served as the ELA Department Chair and lead eighth grade teacher in the Todd County School District in South Dakota from 2013-2016 as a Teach for America Corps member. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Adolescent Education and English from the State University of New York at Oneonta in 2012 and her Master’s degree in Educational Technology and Systems Management from Stony Brook University in 2017. Ms. Taibi has earned certificates in Educational Leadership from Stony Brook University in 2022 and was issued certifications in ELA 7-12, Professional in 2020 along with School Building Leader, Initial and School District Leader, Professional in 2023. She is currently working towards a Doctor of Education (Ed.D) degree in instructional leadership from St. John’s University.

Aaron Marsh, Coordinator for Math and Business

Aaron Marsh joined the Brentwood Union Free School District as Coordinator for Math and Business as of March 2024. Mr. Marsh previously served as the Assistant Principal of Bay Shore High School beginning in 2021 following a two-year stint as the Mathematics Chairperson of New Hyde Park Memorial High School. He also formerly served as a teacher in the Ossining Union Free School District and Rye City School Districts in Westchester County as well as a term at the Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District from 2014 through 2019, earning tenure in both Rye and Plainview-Old Bethpage. Mr. Marsh earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and Adolescence Education from the State University of New York at Cortland in 2009 and earned a Master of Science in Mathematics Education from Touro College in 2013. He received professional certification in Mathematics 7-12 in addition to School Building Leader, Professional and School District Leader, Internship certificates. Mr. Marsh acquired his School Building Leader certificate from St. Joseph’s University in 2017 and his School District Leader certificate from SUNY Cortland in 2023.

Amanda Chansingh, Coordinator of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)

Amanda Chansingh began her role as Coordinator of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) for the Brentwood Union Free School District in June of 2024. Ms. Chansingh comes to Brentwood from Eastern Suffolk BOCES, where she held the title of Administrative Coordinator for DEI Services at the institution since 2021. She also served as a tenured teacher in the North Babylon School District from 2016 and was an ELA teacher at MS/HS 368 in the Bronx from 2004-2016. While at North Babylon, Ms. Chansingh was chosen to sit on the New York State Education Department’s Office of Bilingual, ENL, and World Languages (OBEMLA) project for the identification of the linguistic demands of the Next Generation Learning Standards for ELA. A 2013 Big Apple nominee for Recognizing Teacher Excellence in New York City, she earned dual bachelor’s degrees in Secondary and Special Education from Manhattan College in 2003. Ms. Chansingh achieved a Master’s degree in Education and Integrating Technology from Walden University of Minnesota in 2011 as well an M.S. in ESOL K-12 from the University of Mount Saint Vincent in 2020 while also earning her SBL and SDL Educational Leadership Certificate from the College of Saint Rose in the same year.
