On June 26, Brentwood High School's Class of 2024 will officially become graduates. Four of the students will be honored as Salutatorians and Valedictorians for Ross and Sonderling Centers, respectively. Meet the four students who have been chosen for this great honor!
Valedictorian Gabriellie Cabral and Salutatorian Talha Rehman are the representatives from Sonderling Center.
Gabriellie has achieved a 103.70 GPA and will be attending Yale University to study Cellular, Molecular, and Developmental Biology. She served as Vice Wing Commander of the NY-773 AFJROTC in addition to being co-captain of the girls' varsity track Team, a member of the Spanish Honor Society, and a featured dancer in the Drama Club's latest production of "On Your Feet."
Talha has achieved a 103.16 grade-point average and will be pursuing a degree in Engineering from the University at Buffalo within the State University of New York (SUNY) school system. He has served as the Head of Aeronautical Coding as part of the NASA Techrise Challenge and is a two-time Suffolk County Boys' Singles Tennis champion while also participating in varsity cross country and track at Brentwood.
Valedictorian Jonathan Baker and Salutatorian Carlos Garcia are the representatives from Ross Center.
Jonathan has obtained a 103.89 grade-point average and will be attending Princeton University in pursuit of a degree in Aerospace Engineering. Jonathan has been a member of MBK and the Smart Scholars in Brentwood along with interning at the Brookhaven National Laboratory and serving as captain of the varsity track team.
Carlos achieved the top grade-point average in Brentwood with a 104.14 GPA. He will be studying Computer Science at Harvard University in the Fall of 2024. An All-Division National Football Foundation (NFF) scholar-athlete and captain of the Brentwood varsity football team, Carlos has also held the Treasurer position in the Science Honor Society.
