COPA Club, BOE Celebrated at Board of Education Meeting

The Brentwood High School COPA Club was honored in a special presentation during the BUFSD Board of Education Business Meeting on Oct. 19. Additionally, the Brentwood Board of Education was lauded for their commitment to the district in the celebration of Board of Education Appreciation Week across the state.

The COPA Club is an extracurricular activity that is designed to give students the chance to integrate into the Brentwood High School experience through its core principles of Community, Obligation, Professionalism, and Achievement. COPA Club events include the annual soccer tournament, which took place at Suffolk Community College on Oct. 9. The COPA Club dancers also performed at the Board of Education meeting to the delight of the community members in attendance.

The teachers of COPA Club were honored with certificates by the Board of Education at the meeting, the first one presided over by Ms. Ortiz-Rivera since her ascension to the role of Interim Superintendent.
