Brentwood’s Saturday Language Immersion Program wrapped up its year with a joyful celebration on May 3 at East Elementary School, bringing students, families and educators together to honor bilingual learning and cultural pride.
The program, which serves kindergarten through second-grade students, brings together native English and Spanish speakers for integrated instruction in both languages. Held weekly on Saturday mornings, it offers young learners an opportunity to grow academically while developing fluency, confidence and cultural appreciation.
The final day of the program featured a special performance by guest artist Felix Pitre, who delighted the audience with puppetry, storytelling, song and dance rooted in Hispanic traditions passed down through generations. Students also took the spotlight, performing choreographed dances to lively music, showcasing both their enthusiasm and the vibrant spirit of the program.
The event served as a joyful send-off for the school year and a celebration of the connections formed through language, learning and community.
