On December 8, the Brentwood Union Free School District celebrated its tenth-annual Tree-Lighting Extravaganza in front of the High School’s Sonderling and Ross Centers. The event is a yearly tradition to bring together the community and spread holiday cheer.
A collection of activities awaited students and their families, including a station dedicated to writing and mailing letters to Santa and booths providing hot chocolate and other tasty treats. Performances during the evening included holiday songs from the Brentwood High School Chamber Choir and performances by the Brentwood High School Dance Class and the Explosive Stepperz.
The evening concluded with the countdown led by Interim Superintendent of Schools Ms. Wanda Ortiz-Rivera and first graders from the dual language program before the bright and colorful lights of the tree illuminated and cheers of excitement filled the air welcoming the holiday season.
