Brentwood MBK News Round-Up

The Brentwood chapter of My Brother's Keeper has been busy over the last few weeks with several events that have taken place in the community.

The Jack and Jill/MBK HBCU Homecoming Classic took place on Feb. 25, the Saturday of Mid-Winter Recess. Students and staff were on hand as the community experienced different break-out sessions related to education, entrepreneurship, the arts, and law. Meanwhile, Brentwood's AFJROTC performed a "halftime" exhibition along with the Xplosive Stepperz step team. The keynote speaker for the event was Suffolk County Sheriff Dr. Errol D. Toulon, Jr.

On Mar. 6, students from both MBK and the AFJROTC were present at a screening of the documentary "Defining Us," which explores the topic of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. The film's director, Stacey DeWitt, was present to introduce the screening and share her insights on the project. The Brentwood students then led discussions to provide a deeper understanding of the film's greater meanings.
