Brentwood Community Members Are First LIMHPEP Scholarship Recipients!

Six members of the Brentwood community were named as the first recipients of the Long Island Mental Health Professional Expansion Project Scholarship in a ceremony that was held on Oct. 6 on the Brentwood campus of Long Island University.

The cohort is a collaboration between Long Island University and the Brentwood Union Free School District, which is a partnership to increase the number and diversity of school-based mental health service professionals for communities that require more access to mental health services.

The six scholarship recipients from the Brentwood community are:

Rudy Vasquez Argueta
Carolyn Blandino
Ruthie Salgado
Paola Navarete
Nigeria Young

The scholarship winners were joined at the ceremony by members of the central administration of the Brentwood Union Free School District along with members of the BUFSD Board of Education.
