BHS Varsity Fencing Salutes Coach Corona

The Brentwood High School varsity fencing team hosted its annual tournament last weekend as the team honored Head Coach Mike Corona, who is retiring from the district at the end of 2023.

Coach Corona has been the Boys Fencing Coach in Brentwood for the last 20 years and also serves as a physical education teacher. He is a multiple-time recipient of Coach of the Year accolades and put the fencing program on the map over his two-decade tenure as coach and mentor.

The Brentwood fencing tournament saw eighteen different teams come to the BHS gymnasium for the day, along with the head of the U.S. Fencing Association and an Olympic fencer to help assist with the running of the event. It is a testament to Brentwood to have had such a strong show of support for not only Coach Corona, but also Coach Finfrock and Coach Welch as well.

Thank you to Coach Corona for all that you've done for the Brentwood fencing program and we wish you all the best going forward!
