Freshman Campus Students Recognized at Islip Arts Council Congressional Art Competition

Six students representing Ms. Amtmann's art studio class from the Freshman Campus were chosen to compete in the Congressional Art Competition at the Islip Arts Council for the month of April.

The students---Karina Argueta, Dodley Dumond, Veronica Marroquin, Rudis Rivera, Jenny Sanchez, and Arianna Turell---had their compositions displayed at the gallery of the Islip Arts Council on Sunrise Highway in Bay Shore for the entirety of the month. The competition was put forward by New York Congressman Andrew Garbarino (R) of the state's Second District.

The artists from the Freshman Campus were later awarded Certificates of Special Congressional Recognition for their submissions to the competition.
