Young Women Summer Institute Participants Celebrate Week of Growth and Leadership

Students in the Long Island Latino Teachers Association Young Women Summer Institute concluded a week of learning, leadership and personal growth with a visit from Superintendent of Schools Wanda Ortiz-Rivera.

Ortiz-Rivera shared her journey to leading the largest school district on Long Island, encouraging students to embrace GraduationPLUS+ and pursue their goals with confidence and purpose. She also presented each student with a Brentwood backpack filled with school supplies to help them begin the new school year prepared for success.

Throughout the week, students explored college and career pathways through workshops, mentoring and campus visits. They also strengthened connections through wellness activities and team-building experiences.

The institute provided students with opportunities to build leadership skills, expand their career aspirations and prepare for future success.
