Unified Badminton at Southwest Elementary Builds Skills and Connections

Brentwood High School’s badminton team recently partnered with elementary students for a Unified Sports badminton session, creating an inclusive and engaging experience for all participants.
Held March 28, the event brought together high school athletes and elementary students for a series of activities designed to be both accessible and appropriately challenging. Under the leadership of Coach DiMaria, the session featured well-organized stations that allowed students to learn new skills, build confidence and enjoy the game in a supportive environment.

High school athletes played a key role in the event’s success, serving as mentors and partners throughout the session. They worked closely with each student, offering encouragement, guidance and individualized attention. Their patience and enthusiasm helped foster a welcoming atmosphere where every participant felt included and valued.

The event emphasized the core principles of Unified Sports, promoting teamwork, understanding and connection across grade levels. Through shared activities and positive interactions, students not only developed their badminton skills but also formed meaningful relationships.
