Twin Pines Elementary Students Visited By K9 Law Enforcement

Fifth graders at Twin Pines Elementary School on Nov. 10 celebrated completing the G.R.E.A.T. Program created by the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Office, learning valuable life skills to make positive choices, solve problems and build safe communities.

The program helps prevent bullying, violence and drug use while strengthening relationships between law enforcement, families and our youth. The highlight of the day? Meeting K9 Hondo, a German Shepherd – strong, fast and obedient – who showed that man’s best friend can also be a hero.
