Red, White, Blue and Green: Schools Join Suffolk 250 Tree-Planting Initiative

All 11 Brentwood elementary schools are getting a little greener during the final weeks of the school year as newly planted trees become part of Suffolk County’s Living Legacy Tree Registry. The countywide initiative encourages residents to plant and dedicate trees that will be documented and preserved through the county clerk’s office as part of Suffolk County’s Suffolk 250 celebration commemorating America’s semiquincentennial.

At North Elementary School, the tree-planting ceremony also served as a tribute to Principal Patrick Morris, who will retire at the end of the month. During the celebration, students, staff and families recognized Morris for his years of service and dedication to the school community.

Additional tree-planting ceremonies are planned at the district’s remaining elementary schools as the Living Legacy initiative continues throughout Brentwood!
