East Middle School STREAM Fair Turns Curiosity into Hands-On Discovery

The 2026 East Middle School STREAM Fair brought students and families together for an afternoon of hands-on learning and experimentation, as participants explored activities tied to science, technology, reading, engineering, arts and mathematics.

Stations throughout the event featured interactive challenges and demonstrations, including slime-making experiments focused on cross-linking polymers and giant bubble activities highlighting the physics of surface tension. Students also designed wind-powered cars, built custom cellphone holders and tested vessels during boat motion trials.

Other activities included invisible ink experiments and homemade lava lamps that demonstrated liquid density concepts. One of the afternoon’s signature events was the egg drop challenge, where students engineered protective designs to keep their “egg-stronauts” intact during impact tests.

The fair provided a lively and engaging showcase of creativity, problem-solving and innovation for the school community
