East Elementary Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month with Dance, Food and Community

East Elementary School celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month on Oct. 7 with a lively showcase of dance, music, and food. Dancers from the COPA club led the audience on a colorful journey across Hispanic and Latino cultures, while kindergarteners bounced in their seats, clapping and moving to the rhythm. After the performance, the youngest students spontaneously hugged the performers – a heartwarming moment that reflected the school’s spirit of community and celebration. Families also sampled traditional dishes, including plantains, pupusas, and rice and beans, filling the cafeteria with smiles and the aroma of culture.
