The Xplosive Step Team continued its strong season with back-to-back second-place finishes at two competitive step events in Brooklyn, New York, reinforcing its standing among the top programs in the state.

The team first competed March 14 at the Show Off X Show Out Step Competition, a regional event that draws middle and high school teams from across the tri-state area to showcase routines rooted in rhythm, precision and teamwork. The competition regularly features dozens of teams performing high-energy routines that emphasize coordination and creativity.

At the event, Xplosive earned second place, finishing just two points behind first and nearly achieving a perfect score.

The team followed that performance with another second-place finish March 21 at the “War of Step” competition, also held in Brooklyn. There, Xplosive again delivered a standout routine, finishing only three points shy of first place and five points away from a perfect score.

Step competitions such as these are part of a growing circuit of events that highlight the art form as both performance and sport, with teams evaluated by judges on synchronization, difficulty, creativity and overall execution. Many competitions are connected to larger networks and leagues that promote step nationally and internationally, reflecting the activity’s expanding reach and cultural significance.

The team’s consistent results this season underscore its ranking as the No. 2 coed step team in New York. Across multiple competitions, Xplosive has remained among the top performers, competing closely with leading programs and demonstrating a high level of discipline and preparation.
