Brentwood High Students Complete Training to Serve as Peer Mentors

At Brentwood High School, a group of dedicated students recently completed specialized training to become peer mentors for younger learners in the district. The program, designed to foster leadership and empathy, equips high school students with skills in active listening, conflict resolution and positive communication.

"With our elementary counselors and high school club advisors partnering so thoughtfully, our students now have mentors who prove every day that leadership begins with connection," said Ann Palmer, assistant superintendent for elementary education, who led the training session on Dec. 4.

These mentors will now work closely with middle and elementary school students, offering guidance, encouragement and support as they navigate academic and social challenges. By building these connections, Brentwood High aims to create a stronger, more inclusive school community where students help each other thrive.
