Brentwood Business Institute Launches ‘Perfect Pitch+’ Competition

The East Middle School library was filled with innovation and entrepreneurship as the Brentwood Business Institute hosted its inaugural Perfect Pitch+ Competition, a Shark Tank-style event featuring student-created business ideas.

Top students and teams from the district’s eighth grade Introduction to Business classes presented their concepts before judges, showcasing creativity, collaboration and real-world business skills developed throughout the course.

The event highlighted the work of students and business teachers who helped participants prepare their presentations and refine their ideas.

Derek Peterson of Soter Technologies sponsored the competition, supporting students as they explored entrepreneurship and business leadership.

The top finishers were:

• First place: Amelia Ochoa Barriga and Samantha Pilco

• Second place: Ilesha Waris

• Third place: Juliette Sencion and Leyla Avila

District officials praised all participants for their hard work, innovation and professionalism during the competition, which showcased the entrepreneurial talent of Brentwood’s middle school students.
