Brentwood Board Members Recognized for Leadership and Service

Trustee Eileen Harman has been honored with the Outstanding School Board Service Award from the Nassau-Suffolk School Boards Association, recognizing her dedication to public education and the Brentwood community.

A retired Brentwood educator, Harman has spent her career serving local students, staff and families. According to the district, she has remained committed to keeping children at the center of every decision throughout her service on the Board of Education.

"There is a warmth and sincerity about Ms. Harman that people feel immediately," Superintendent Wanda Ortiz Rivera said. "She listens, she cares, and she leads with both wisdom and heart. Her love for Brentwood is evident in everything she does, and our students and families are better because of her service."

The district also recognized Board President Eileen Felix for her appointment to the Executive Committee of the Nassau-Suffolk School Boards Association.

"Throughout her years of service, Ms. Felix has been a passionate advocate for Brentwood's students, families and staff," Ortiz Rivera said. "She has worked tirelessly to ensure that every child has access to opportunities that will help them succeed both inside and outside the classroom. Her voice is respected across Long Island because she leads with purpose, compassion and a strong belief that every student can achieve great things when given the opportunity and support to succeed."
