Board of Education Reorganizes, Highlights Class of 2026 Successes

The Brentwood Board of Education held its annual reorganizational meeting on July 7, swearing in returning trustees and district officers while recognizing the accomplishments of the Brentwood High School Class of 2026.

Ms. Eileen Felix was sworn in as Board President, Ms. Julia Burgos as First Vice President and Mr. Brandon Garcia as Second Vice President. District officers sworn in to their current roles included Ms. Lindsay Denninger as district clerk, Ms. Nancy Carollo as treasurer and Mr. Daniel Calderon as purchasing agent.

The Board also appointed the 2026-27 Audit Committee, including trustees Mr. Hassan Ahmed and Ms. Cynthia Ciferri, along with Ms. Kelly DiMassimo, Ms. Ellen Edelstein and Mr. Manuel Troche.

During the special business meeting portion, Superintendent Wanda Ortiz-Rivera highlighted the achievements of the Brentwood High School Class of 2026, noting that nearly 400 graduates earned industry certifications in fields including HVAC, CNC, welding and lifeguarding.

Board President Eileen Felix closed the meeting by reaffirming the district’s commitment to preparing students for life after graduation. “When we put our students first,” Felix said, “you’ll never make a bad decision.”
