The Business Office is responsible for all of the
business and operation functions throughout the District.
These areas include accounting, benefits,
building and grounds, data processing,
insurance, payroll, purchasing, school lunch,
security and transportation.

The Benefits Office is responsible for
employee benefits for over 2,000 employees.
These benefits include health, dental, vision, prescription and life insurances, and workers’ compensation.

The Data Processing Department is responsible
for the following
:

·       Administrative computing

·       Student database

·       Financial database

·       Maintaining and processing all NYS
testing data used for NYS report card

·       Telephone system

·       System backups and disaster recovery planning

·       All network connectivity for 18 buildings
and over 5,000 computing devices

·       E-mail systems

·       SPAM protection

·       Virus protection

·       Internet access

·       Installation, maintenance and monitoring
of all application serverswhich run the
instructional computing applications.

The Purchasing Department is responsible for
processing nearly 10,000 purchase orders each year.
The Department also supervises warehouse functions, performs competitive bids, maintains fixed asset inventory and approves new vendors.

Security

Director: Carlos Sanchez 434-2500

The Security Department operates 24 hours a day,
7 days a week, 365 days a year.
The Department deploys security officers at many
building locations and has roving vehicles
that patrol the District.
The Department responds to numerous incidents
throughout the District, including bus accidents,
works cooperatively with the Suffolk Police Department,
directs traffic at events and school arrival/dismissal
and safeguards the students, staff
and possessions of the District.

and to implement a comprehensive school safety program,
which supports the district's educational goals.

The Accounting Office is responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable and numerous financial functions.

Buildings and Grounds

Assistant: Peter Wagenhauser

The Buildings and Grounds Department is responsible for the maintenance and cleanliness of all District locationsincluding the outside grounds, long range planning, health and safety code compliance, capital improvements and environmental regulation compliance.
The Department consists of professionals in many trades,including a plumber, electrician, locksmith and automotive technician.

The Payroll Department is responsible for processing payroll for nearly
3,000 employees on a bi-weekly basis.

School Lunch

The School Lunch Department serves breakfast and lunch to thousands of students and many staff members each day.
The Department is dedicated to providing well balanced meals to promote good nutritional habits. To this end, the Department has introduced many organic and healthy choice foods to the menu.

The Department also provides a summer lunch program for school age children.

Transportation

Suffolk Transportation: 434-2492 

The Transportation Department transports roughly
15,000 students to about 75 locations each day.
The Department is dedicated to providing
safe transportation services in a clean environment.
For the safety of the students, drivers and bus matrons, security cameras have been
installed on the buses.
