NOTICE OF MEETINGS
   
Should any changes in the schedule be necessary, the public will be notified via the news media as promptly as possible. In the event time does not allow a change in the above schedule to be published in the news media, notices will be posted in the Anthony F. Felicio Administration Center, Special Services Office and the Public Library.
   The Board of Education is charged with the responsibility of operating the School District and providing the best education possible for the children of the District. They are officers of the State of New York and responsible to the New York State Commissioner of Education as well as to the people of the District.
  The Board of Education sets the policy for the District and appoints a Superintendent to carry out this policy. The Superintendent is a professional educator and, working with the Board, organizes the District so that it can function efficiently

YOUR SCHOOL DISTRICT
   
The Brentwood School District was formed in 1856.The southern boundary is Spur Drive North and Bay Shore Road to the boundary of Islip and Babylon Towns. Vanderbilt Motor Parkway is the northern boundary with Islip Avenue forming the eastern line. Pilgrim State Hospital lies within the District.
   The Brentwood Community encompasses an area of about 21 square miles. Nearly 71,000 residents live within the boundaries of the Brentwood School District. 

 This year we will have over 16,410 students attending eleven elementary and seven secondary schools, making the district the largest school district on Long Island. Additionally, there are approximately 2,900 individuals employed by the Brentwood School District in teaching and support services.

AVISO SOBRE REUNIONES
Si fuese necesario algun cambio en el itinerario el público será notificado por medio de la Presa tan pronto sea posible. Si no hay tiempo para publicar el cambio en los periodicós se colocarán avisos anunciando el cambio en El Centro de Administrativo Anthony F. Felicio, Oficina de Servicios Especiales, y en la Biblioteca Pública.
La Junta de Educación tiene la responsibilidad de manejar el distrito y ofrecer la mejor educación posible para los niños del distrito. Los miembros de la Junta son oficiales del estado de Nueva York y son responsables al Comisionado de Educación en el estado de Nueva York y a la gente del distrito.
La Junta de Educación establece las pólizas del distrito y nombra el superintendente para administrator estas pólizas. El superintendente es un educador professional trabajando con el consejo directivo organizando el distrito para que pueda funcionar eficíentemente.

SU DISTRITO ESCOLAR
El Distrito Escolar de Brentwood actual fue originalmente establecido en el año 1856. El limite al sur es Spur Drive North y la calle Bay Shore es el límite entre los pueblos de Islip y Babylon. Vanderbilt Motor Parkway es el límites al none, con la avenida Islip formando el límite al este. El Distrito Escolar de Brentwood circunda una area de 21 millas cuadrados. Casi 71,000 residentes viven dentro el limite del distrito de Brentwood.

 Este año tenemos aproximadamente 16,410 estudiantes asistiendo a once escuelas elementales y siete escuelas secundarias. Adicionalmente, hay aproximadamente 2,900 empleados trabajando para el Distrito de Brentwood. Somos uno de los Distritos Suburbanos mas grandes en el Estado de
Nueva York.
